Scout's One-Day Design Experience is Back

Interventions: Amplify is Scout’s fifth annual design conference at Northeastern University. This year’s conference is all about creatives, advocates, and organizations that work to lift up marginalized groups and underrepresented voices through impactful design. From pushing the boundaries on how design can shape information to using design as a tool to advocate for social change in our communities – everyone in attendance will walk away with new perspectives on the role they play as an influential creator and activist through design.

Interventions: Amplify is a showcase of design thinking as a driving force for social change brought to you by Scout, Northeastern University’s student-led design organization. Through a series of presentations, panels, and workshops, our conference will allow speakers to share new perspectives on design’s role in our rapidly changing society. To make our event more accessible this year our conference will be in-person and online.
Keynotes
We are thrilled to welcome industry professionals and inspiring creatives for keynote sessions and lightning talks. This year, we aim to expand the conversation about design by bringing in a wide range of creatives, organizations and thought leaders who are channeling creativity to make waves in their respective industries.
Workshops
Throughout the day, we’ll have exclusive demos, design thinking workshops, and interactive performance art that our attendees can get involved in. New to our conference this year, we are giving our attendees the option on how to best shape their day through choosing different sessions to attend. We know it will be hard to choose, but have no fear — all of these sessions will be recorded shared out a month after the event.
Experience
Whether you’re a professional or a student (all are welcome!), Interventions will offer you the opportunity to think critically about the ways that design has power to shape our society into one that is more equitable and accessible. Your ticket includes breakfast, lunch, pop-up exhibits, and access to some great workshops and talks. Additionally, we’re bringing in Boston-based creatives to sell goods in a marketplace and having businesses represented as a networking opportunity.

Our completely student-led event would not be possible without the hard work from a team of passionate students in Scout and the generous support from a variety of organizations and companies that have helped us along the way. Interested in getting involved? We’re still looking for sponsors, volunteers and companies looking to network or sell their goods. Our marketplace and networking space will provide students and professionals a chance to meet and make meaningful connections!
